About Chad
Chad Martens completed his M.Ed. in Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta in 2009, and has been a team member of Randall Symes Psychological Services since licensure as a Registered Psychologist in 2012. In addition to membership with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Chad’s professional affiliations include the Canadian Psychological Association and the National Association of School Psychologists. Prior to 2009, Chad held positions as a teacher and special education coordinator, and still holds an Alberta Professional Teacher Certificate.
Chad specializes in psychoeducational assessment and consultation. He has provided in-services for several school divisions, for the Central Alberta Regional Consortium, and has qualified as an expert witness in the Alberta Provincial Court. He is also a consulting psychologist for a number of pediatric Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) multidisciplinary diagnostic clinics in Alberta. Chad has a broad range of professional interests, although early literacy skill development, use of technology in schools, and inclusive education are areas of particular interest maintained from his years as a teacher.
In his free time, Chad enjoys cooking, participating in outdoor activities with his wife and daughter, as well as pursuing his interest in music.
